Dreams Are But Fantasies (Private, Mature) Empty
PostSubject: Re: Dreams Are But Fantasies (Private, Mature)   Dreams Are But Fantasies (Private, Mature) EmptyMon Jul 29, 2013 11:23 pm

"Only in my dreams though...huh?"

The Dream Master heart skipped a beat at those words. His hopes began to rise at the thought of finding the one woman who could see through the fiction that he created. That he had mastered. "Dreams are but wishes of the heart....", he trailed off as he delicately spun her around, releasing her from his grip and let her spin back to the middle of the dance floor.

In the blink of an eye, the scene changed. The exquisite fabrics, statues of marble, the beautiful woman and men disappearing without a trace. In it's place was a dark alleyway lit up from the flashing red and blue lights at one end. Police tape cutting off entry on both ends and a body lay in the middle of the alley. The body itself was strange. Pale white with a rather large whole in the neck, seemingly drained of blood. Not a drop of blood around the body and it was positioned with its hand on its chest, eyes closed like it was at peace.

Two uniformed police officers came up to Alice, "Detective... no witnesses and no evidence. The coroner is on his way.", spoke the tall one with ice blue eyes, his voice like a dream.

The other officer, a pudgy man who clearly ate too many doughnuts, rolled his eyes, "Stop being a kiss ass. She's a woman. We did all the work there is nothing left to do except clean up." The man was well known in the department for being a sexist asshat.

Alison enjoyed the gentle sway of the fabric as she danced with the noblemen. She loved how the lights, gentle and soft, seemed to set the other women's dresses aglow in shimmers of rainbow hues; the bead work and jewelry all complimenting them nicely. Even the men, who looked as ordinary as a slice of bread, seemed elegant and unnatural to her eye.

The music changed; the tempo rising. Even then Alison was enjoying herself. Everyone seemed to be in a heightened mood; drunk off the sheer grace of the evening.

When the man who held her spoke, his velvet voice ringing like music in her ears, Alison's cheeks flushed. He spoke about her in such a way. No one had ever spoken to her like this. That they were happy she was here. Alison's painted lips curved and she smiled at him.

"And you're such a handsome man..." Something of a laugh spurred in Alison. She was truly happy; even if this was just a dream. "Only in my dreams though...huh?" Her honey eyes lifted to gaze into his icy blue hues. Of course this wasn't real. The memory of her previous dream drifted in the back of her mind; reminding her yet again that her family was not here.

Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.

Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

~Langston Hughes

The Dream Master watched her hesitation and slight confusion with intrigue. Could she really figure it out? When her hand touched his own, he gripped it tenderly as he lead her to the dance floor. Whispers among the women could be heard. Jealous comments and mean words but he ignored them, focusing all his attention on Alison Marion, the only real thing in this whole thing. He turned to face her, his blue eyes catching her gaze and smiling, one that any woman would fall for.

He put his hand on her slim waist and the one holding her hand readjusted with ease. He pulled her close so that she barely touched his chest and instantly went into the dance, a Viennese Waltz. With a left step to the side he began the dance. He was leading her with ease and he moved graciously through the dance. After a few moments others joined them on the dance floor and the mood of the place lifted.

He kept his gaze upon her as he led her through the dance with no need to look where he was going. He had designed the dream so every move he made was responded to by everyone inside it. He was beginning to lose hope that she was who she said she was as the music changed. Changing the tempo at which they were dancing. He led her into the Mazurka dance which is higher energy and more entertaining. He gave her the ability to know the dance and continued to lead her.

The room was filled with laughter and music, a beautiful scene that surely would seem surreal. "Alison Marion, I thank you for your company. A beautiful woman like you rarely graces me." He smirked as the continued to dance, his hair sweeping behind him elegantly. Even though he was the only man with long hair in the room he still was the manliest. Toned muscles and strong features stood bright in comparison of the slim built or overly large men who danced beside them. He had wanted all of her attention and made the men average looking.

OOC: I so couldn't figure out how to describe the waltz or the mazurka.... sorry...

Dreams Are But Fantasies (Private, Mature) Fea11211

“Without leaps of imagination or dreaming, we lose the excitement of possibilities. Dreaming, after all is a form of planning.”
― Gloria Steinem

Alison Marion had never been one to put much thought into her dreams. To question 'why' when there would never be an answer. But that wasn't to say she didn't enjoy them. Dreams, to Alison, were beautiful and inviting with the occasional fright. Whenever she had a rough day, she would look forward to imagining a world much different than her own. A world where the colors were so surreal and everything felt just a touch brighter. But whereas others, her friends and even her younger brother, often asked why they dreamed a dream; Alison took it with a smile and left it at that.

That evening though would change her opinion. To finally bring about an inquisitive nature to dear little Alison. Finally she would be brought into a different light in a different world.

It started out as an uneventful evening. Danny, her kid brother, was off watching television in the living room while Alison and her mother Macy were busy in the kitchen. They were working together, as a happy team, to make supper while they shared gossip. Alison had just popped a small black olive in her mouth when her mother questioned Alison's relationship status. The young adult had been attending college for a year now and had moved back home for the summer months. Like all good mothers, Macy just wanted to see Alison happy and perhaps along the way have beautiful children and a loving husband.

Alison felt embarrassed to report that she honestly hadn't even taken an interest in the men at her school. At this age, most of the guys and even the girls were more occupied with either passing a class or seeing how many drinks it took for someone to do something stupid. It didn't bother Alison though. She explained this to Macy, who sighed in defeat.

"One day, Alice you'll climb out of that rabbit hole of yours." Something her mother often said and smiled at her only daughter.

She went to bed early after supper. Alison had a few plans to take care of in the morning and a good nights rest sounded perfect. As she pulled her blankets up around her shoulders, Alison closed her eyes and smiled; secretly hoping for a new world to grace her dreams that night.

+ + + +

One awful dream lead to another for Alison. Her previous dream had brought her to tears. Where had her family been? What an awful thing to dream. But now she entered into a new one; a dream unlike any she had seen before.

Her chocolate brown hair was done in beautiful lush curls, not too thick and not too loose. Beads of fine jewelry were strung with care around her; in her hair to hold back some curls or around her neck to enhance her petite build. A beautiful hummingbird blue dress cascaded around her frame and though she could not directly see them, Alison knew she was wearing beautiful matching heels. This was definitely a Cinderella dream.

Alison, who had eyes the color of warm honey, suddenly lifted her gaze as a movement took place before her, amongst the men and women currently occupying the marble floor. Some knelt, some bowed and women alike swooned as a man with dark hair made his way through the cluster of bodies. Alison felt embarrassed suddenly; out of place in a world with such elegant manners. Why did she feel this way though? Something in her chest fluttered; her heart. The man was beautiful, even from this distance she could clearly see that. That man though; that beautiful and breath-taking man...was gracefully moving toward her. Were his eyes on her as well? Those icy orbs that made Alison think of glaciers in the sunlight; they were most definitely on her.

Before she knew it, the man stood before her with all the elegance in the world. Alison was naturally a petite young woman which was why the man felt as if he were towering over her. Small and delicate; like a small dancing doll as everyone often said about her frame. Alison looked up at this noble stranger and found herself lost in his presence.

"A...A dance? W-Wait a minute..." Alison stammered nervously while her honey eyes quickly fluttered away. She found a faint reflection of herself on the glass like floors at their feet. Dressed like a beautiful doll and yet..something felt off. But what? Something about this made Alison feel as if a haze had over come her. She looked back to the man and blinked slowly. All thoughts were fading away like sand between her fingers. "I..." Before she could complete a thought in her mind, Alison was aware of her own hand gently touching the center of his palm; her fingertips brushing his warm, inviting hand. "...Would love to." Alison's painted lips returned a delicate smile to the mysterious noble man.

((ooc: So she just temporarily forgot this was a dream. She'll remember in a minute or two but yeah. xD I hope this was okay. ;u; ))

Hold fast to dreams

Hold fast to dreams

Frozen with snow.

~Langston Hughes

Dreams. An unexplained phenomenon  that scientists can't interpret. They do not know why or how dreams come to be. If they knew the truth they would still not understand. Dreams come from a fantastical world that none could ever comprehend. A world way almost anything goes.

The Dream Master rules this fantasy land, as most would call it, where your dreams are reality. The fears and hopes of all are in this place, living in some kind of harmony. The Dream Master watches over this land with a kind heart until angered. Usually busy with creating people's dreams in the human world, he stays in his tower and spins the creations of dreams with such speed and accuracy that comes from a millennia of doing such things. Each person has a unique dream and so the Dream Master must make each one. Of course he has a protégé that handles the children otherwise, he would never get a break.

The Dream Master stood at the window of the tower and looked over the land that was his. A land separated into seasons; Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. The tower positioned in the middle so that he could see all that was around him. His blue eyes looked pensive as they moved slowly across the horizon in front of him. He was a lonely man despite having tons of people around him all the time. He wanted a companion, someone to love and hold dear to his heart which had begun to turn cold as the years went by. He didn't want just anyone though. He wanted someone that could see through his dreams as know they were fantasy. Only someone like that would be able to believe in this place and accept it for what it was.

A breeze came through the window blowing long strand of purple hair around his face. Along with the wind came a strange feeling, a dream not going as it should.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A woman stood in the middle of a large banquet hall with her hand on the crook of a very handsome man's arm as dozens of people congratulated them on their engagement that she had no recollection of. She knew none of the faces that appeared before her and felt little connection with any of them. Her mother and brother weren't even there. Why wouldn't they be here? After the initial line of people had greeted them she turned to the man, "Where is my mother? and Danny?"
The man laughed like it was the funniest thing in the world, "Darling you haven't spoken to your mother or Danny in about a year and a half. Why would you even invite them?" The look that he gave her made her frightened.
Anger filled her up like a hot air balloon and she pulled her arm away and took in a deep breath to yell, "You don't know anything about me. I would never fight with my mother and I would never marry a jerk with not a single family member attending either. This is wrong. So very wrong." She turned quickly and bolted out of the hall. She didn't stop when she hit the cool night air but instead got a burst of energy and ran as hard and as fast as she could. She made it to a park and stumbled to a bench. She seated herself and let the tears flow from her.
"This can't be real. I am dreaming. It has to be a dream.", she mumbled under the sobs as she curled herself so her knees were to her chest and her arms wrapped around them. "Wake up....Wake up!" She cried for a long time before letting exhaustion take her.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Dream Master watched the dream play before his eyes. Curiosity spurred in him. Could this woman be the one he had been looking for. Centuries had passed since he began his search but could this be the end of this long pursuit. A smile turned his lips as his fingers dance on silver string, weaving another dream. He had to test her to see if this was someone that could see through to the reality of the dream. Only this time he would enter the dream himself, something he hadn't done in nearly a thousand years. This time a dream that no woman could refuse to fall into. His heart began to race with anticipation and hope grew in his mind.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A woman walked in through a pair of large wooden doors and into a grand ballroom, decorated as if she had stepped into the 18th century. It was absolutely gorgeous. She looked down at herself and realized she wore a blue gown that went into a bell at her hips with flowers and beads adorning her hair. The room was filled with woman in similar dresses and men leading them in dance at the center. Waiters walked around with trays of champagne to those who were engaged in conversation. At the other end of the ballroom was a stage of sorts where a throne sat upon. In it was a gorgeous man with long purple hair and blue eyes that seemed to be searching for something. A man in a cleanly pressed suit bent and spoke to the man who sat like a King in the throne. The man waved off the butler and rose from his seat, dressed in clothes made for a king.
The man moved with such grace that it seemed to anyone that he could actually be a King. As he made his way through the throngs of people, he received courtesy bows of the heads and curtsies from the woman. Some of the woman seemed near fainting as the man smiled kindly to them, although his attention was focused not he woman that had just entered the room. When he stood in front of the woman, a smile danced on his lips making him seem like a dream. He bowed gracefully to her, "A pleasure to have you Miss ______. Would you like to dance?" He offered his hand to her.
OOC: Blah... this sucked... well I couldn't get a good starter set in my head but I hope this is good enough to start.
